Recently on my way back to the states I had an extra long lay-over in Seoul South Korea. Storing my travel luggage at the airport I embarked on a mission to fight travel exhaustion in the name of adventure and a cultural snack. These are photos from my day Jan 20th 2011 in Seoul.
Coming from Chengu, Sichuan China, and Ulaanbaatar Mongolia, South Korea was culturally a stark contrast. Life, people, autos etc. moved in ordered, well thought out ways. Quality was present instead of plastic glitz, fancy looks, and questionable toxicity; this evident in every aspect physical to personality. An air of quiet unity, strength but an unnerving tension and unsettled air hung barely below the surface; a sadness but stern determination to survive. These amazingly well mannered, kind and driven people are truly remarkable. I am happy my country supports these people, and this country.
